The best thing about my town is that it is great but not that great. It's not even as good as some of the places close by. But that's good. It keeps the town relaxed and easy to live in!
Location
Premià de Mar is just north of Barcelona along the coast, a 30-minute suburban train ride away from Plaza Catalunya. it is wedged between the coast and a mountain range that runs up the coast.
Some interesting facts
Until 1846, Premià de Mar was just a suburb of Premià de Dalt (then called just Premià).
Spain's first train line ran past Premià de Mar, from Barcelona to Mataró.
Just take a look at these 2 videos: (Please excuse the crap music on the 2nd video --- it wasn't me.)
My top 5!
The best things I like about my town:
The beach. Just 600 m from my house
The mountain behind us. The national park rises to just under 500 m elevation in around 4 to 5 km. Great if you like running and hiking.
Close to Barcelona.
Small and densely populated enough to have a village feel.
No-one pays much attention to it! This makes living here relatively laid back, depsite the fact we're in one of the most densely popluted corners of Europe.
